Their community

The brothers lived in McKenzie County in far Western North Dakota. More specifically they were a part of the Farland township. At that time, nearly–if not everyone–in the township was involved in production agriculture. The two-room grade school, the church and all things agriculture bound the neighbors together into one tightly-knit community.
